It was a quiet calm night when you stepped on my porch.

You handed me the note.
I commented on your dress.

So I opened the note when you stood there so brave.
You said "Hush. I'm not cute, silly. You're just really insane."
I smiled but I couldn't think of what to say.
Because if I said the wrong thing you might not want to stay.
So I just took your hand and put it in mine.
You didn't seem to mind.

I pulled you real close so you couldn't float away,
And I said "Darling, you're cute no matter what you say."
And you looked up me and smiled and said "Okay."
